Mark先生の京都旅行
今回は、マーク先生の小旅行についての紀行文を紹介します。
3月23日に、私は京都に行きました。
観光客の人込みが押し寄せる前の、早朝の静 けさを楽しみたくて、朝早くに竜野を出ました。
清水辺りの裏通りの穏やかさと静けさは期待を裏切りませんでした。
私は梅の花だけではなく、古い家並みや寺々をゆっくりと見て回ることを楽しみました。
清水寺に着く頃、店が開店し、客の呼び込みでかなり賑やかになってきました。
ひとたび、清水寺の中に入ると、やって来る人々の群れの中でもい
くらかの静けさを楽しむことができました。
私は湯豆腐だけでなく、抹茶ソフトクリームも楽しみました。おいしかったです！
外に出ると、いくつかの店を覗いて回りました。
いつも通り、陶磁器類はすばらしかったです。
哲学の道にそった通りは人の往来で忙しく、 静かに思いに耽ることは無理でした。
たくさんの家族がひんやりとした日曜日の午後を楽しみに出かけて来ているのを見るのは
素敵なことでした。
On the 23 of March I went to Kyoto.I left Tatsuno really early,but I wanted to go and enjoy the early morning stillness before the crowds of sight-seers arrived!
I wasn’t disappointed as the back streets around Kiyomizu were calm and still.
I was able to wander slowly and enjoy the sights of the old houses and temples ,as well as the sight of plum blossom.
By the time I got to Kiyomizu-dera it was starting to get pretty busy.The shops were open and starting to tout for customers.
Once inside Kiyomizu,it was possible to enjoy some of the stillness amongst the flocks of people coming through.I enjoyed some yudofu as well as macha soft cream.Delicious!
Once outside I had a look inside some of the shops.The ceramics were amazing,as
usual.The paths heading along the Philosopher’s Road were busy with people- not
really a chance for quiet thinking and reflection! It was nice to see a lot of families
out enjoying the cool Sunday afternoon.
